There are only 3 days left, 2 if you are taking Friday off, until the beginning of memorial day weekend and the unofficial start of summer, although as most local Northwesterners will quietly admit that day is still more than a month away on the 5th of July! In case you are staying at home here are a couple of events and activities from around the community that may peak your interest.
- The Northwest Folk Life festival will be occurring in downtown Seattle at the City Center, it starts Friday running through Monday. The gates open at 11 am each day and will close at 11 pm each night.
- In the event the weather doesn’t cooperate with your plans or you need something to do one night make sure to check out the Seattle International Film Festival for a catalog of critically acclaimed independent films.
- If you are not interested in crossing the bridge the Issaquah Farmers Market is going strong at the Pickering Barn on Saturday. If you go make sure and get there early as the parking lot has been filling up by 10.
- Is the sun out? Feeling the call of the wild but you are unable to get much time away? Feel free to take a hike on any of the numerous trails. The snow atop Mt Si has cleared and the Rattle Snake Lake and Tiger Mountain trails amongst others will be open.
Hopefully you all will have a fun and safe holiday. If you happen to take any pictures please feel free to share. If I find anything else interesting I will update the list or if you know of something please share it in the comments.
